I am Elias and have homes in Vermont and in Florida. I just took my first Photography class and I enjoyed it a lot. I learned how to take, edit and publish photos. This page is my first portfolio.
The theme I picked is: Happiness in Nature
Ansel Adams and his series of photographs of nature as a source of inspiration. Focus on light, value and shadow. This can be in black and white or color.
· Editing techniques
o Cropping, exposure adjustments, lighting, vantage point, and motion
· Composition
o Symmetrical, asymmetrical, and POV
Steve Carty taught me about the self portrait - i tired one on the beach, it was hard for my phone to stand in the sand so my mom had to push the button, i am happy how it came out.
· Why you chose the theme you did
o I live in Vermont and Florida and nature is everywhere. I love nature, i also relaized that when i and my family are in nature they are some of our happiest times, no phones, no work, no inturruptions, just time together enjoying the world.
· How you came up with your idea(s)
o Southern Vermont has many awesome views, this time of year is a great time to take photos of flowers and birds.
· About the photographer you used for inspiration/appropriation
From Wikipedia:
o Ansel Easton Adams was an American landscape photographer and environmentalist known for his black-and-white images of the American West. He helped found Group f/64, an association of photographers advocating "pure" photography which favored sharp focus and the use of the full tonal range of a photograph.
o Born: February 20, 1902, Western Addition, San Francisco, CA
o Died: April 22, 1984 (age 82 years), Bariatric Surgery Center at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Monterey, CA
o Movement: Group f/64
o Spouse: Virginia Best (m. 1928–1984)
o Children: Anne Adams, Michael Adams
o Parents: Charles Hitchcock Adams, Olive Bray Adams
Some Challanges that i had - we moved to Florida this summer and i felt like i had lost my nature, only to discover that while it looks different, Florida looks beautiful and has a lot of nature to enjoy.
